POTTERS PARK SPLASHPAD

Bespoke were engaged by Auckland Council to design and facilitate the installation of Auckland's first splashpad water play area at Potters Park in Balmoral. Bespoke worked in conjunction with Playrope and Vortex to take the concept design through detailed design and consent to reality on the ground. The design considered the final location, extent and integration of the splashpad, as well as ensuring its combination of features added to the overall park and urban environment. What has been created is a water play area that incorporates numerous interactive water play elements including dumping water features, fountains, misters and sprayers which accommodate children of all ages. As well as the splashpad itself the development called for the installation of a pump house which was added as an extension to the existing toilet block – the walls have received an extension of the colourful mural from a local artist.
