UPPER HARBOUR WATER ACCESS FEASIBILITY STUDY
Upper Harbour Local Board identified the importance of water access provision in providing opportunities for social connection, participation in recreational and cultural activities, which subsequently form part of the Upper Harbour Local Board Open Space Network Plan (2018) to assess and identify new opportunities for publicly accessible water access points for water sports. Bespoke were engaged by Auckland Council to prepare a water access feasibility study to inform and identify opportunities to increase access to and utilisation of the marine areas within the Upper Harbour Local Board area for sport and recreation at a network level and establish an holistic understanding of relationship between existing water access provision, activities and infrastructure and anticipated demand based on forecast growth area and population density to inform investment decisions within the study area.
